MR0404 - HARMONY VINTAGE GUITAR - H-16B "BOB KAT" ("COLOR KAT" MODEL) , SEAFOAM GREEN - EURO 615

A real piece of American rock and roll history. A Harmony "Bob Kat" Guitar - "Color Kat" H-16B Model, named due to its solid colour scheme. It has a "jag" body shape, with 12 frets clear to the body.

This guitar is from the early 1960s and was manufactured by The Kay Guitar Company for catalogue sales in the USA. The two "Kleenex Box" style single coil De Armond pick ups on this guitar were Kay's top of line pickups, used from 1957 to 1968. They are almost exactly the same design as a Gibson P-90 pickup. The De Armond "Golden Tone" pickups were built to De Armond's design by Rowe Industries and were mounted at an angle to enhance tonal effect. The the slim line neck and narrow bound fingerboard were popular with many players. It has the "Type W" chrome plated vibrato tailpiece.

The H-16 came in three rich colors, H-16R Candy Apple red, H16B Metallic Blue and H16W Gleaming white.

This is a very good example for one of these unusual guitars This guitar plays well and has a great sound from the De Armond classic pickups. All in very good condition.
