MR1104 AIRLINE/KAY "BARNEY KESSEL" (BLONDE)

 

This Kay manufactured Airline guitar is a Barney Kessel Model in the Kay manufatured Airline range for Sears most probably. It has a natural "flamed" finish. It was manufactured in the early 1960s and features three of the Kay "kleenex Box" pickups, with volume and tone control for each. These "Kleenex Box" style single coil De Armond pick ups were Kay's top of line pickups, used from 1957 to 1968. They are almost exactly the same design as a Gibson P-90 pickup. The pickups were built to De Armond's design by Rowe Industries
