MR1304 - KAY "TRUETONE" SOLID BODY GUITAR (RED)

 

An early 1960s Kay "Truetone" solid body guitar with a red finish and a unique pick-up switching setup. This guitar has two of the "Kleenex Box" pickups classically Kay of this period. These "Kleenex Box" style single coil De Armond pick ups were Kay's top of line pickups, used from 1957 to 1968. They are almost exactly the same design as a Gibson P-90 pickup. The pickups were built to De Armond's design by Rowe Industries
